Recipe Keeper AI ("Recipe Keeper AI," "we," "us") is an app that helps you save, organize, and cook from recipes you find anywhere on the web. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what control you have over it. It applies to the web app at www.recipekeeper-ai.com and the iOS and Android apps.
Creating an account is required to use Recipe Keeper AI. You can sign up with an email address and password, with "Continue with Google," or with "Sign in with Apple" (iOS). If you use Google, we receive the basic profile information Google shares with sign-in apps — your name, email address, and profile photo. If you use Apple, we receive your name (only if you share it, and only the first time you sign in) and either your real email address or a private relay address, depending on what you choose to share with Apple. We don't request or see your Google or Apple password.
Everything you save is stored on our servers so it's available across your devices: recipe names, ingredients, instructions, timing, servings, nutrition, cuisine, tags, your own notes, ratings, and favorites — along with any photos you upload or that come attached to a recipe you extract. We also store the organizational structures you build on top of that: meal plans, grocery lists, cookbooks, and events.
When you paste a link (a recipe blog, a YouTube video, an Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, X/Twitter, Facebook, or Threads post) or paste text, upload a photo, or upload a file, we fetch or process that content to identify and structure the recipe in it. The first time you use the app, we resolve your IP address to an approximate country (never a precise location) using a third-party lookup service, and store that country against your account. It's never updated again after that first time. We also record which platform you're using — web, iOS, or Android — updated each time you open the app.
We keep basic records of which features you use (for example, adding a recipe to a grocery list versus a meal plan) and metadata about AI requests (which feature triggered it, and its cost) so we can understand what's actually useful and keep the service affordable. This is for our own product and cost analytics, and we don't sell any of your information to anyone. On our website, we also use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that doesn't use cookies and doesn't collect personal data, to understand traffic patterns. Our mobile apps do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDK.
Recipe extraction, the "Ask ArfAI" question box on a recipe, revising a recipe based on your answer, and estimating nutrition or servings when a source doesn't state them are all powered by Anthropic's Claude. Depending on the feature, what's sent to Claude is: the text/content from a link or file you submit for extraction, or the content of a recipe you've already saved (for questions, revisions, or estimates). We do not use your recipes, notes, or any other personal content to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
To provide the app, the following services process data on our behalf:

Once in-app subscriptions launch, purchases will be processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play billing, with RevenueCat managing subscription status across both — we'll never see or store your payment card details directly.
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a recipe, it's removed immediately. If you delete your account (see Your rights below), your personal data and content are deleted immediately as well, other than what we're required to retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
If you're in the European Economic Area, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar data protection law, you have the rights described above under GDPR (or your local equivalent), including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you're a California resident, you have similar rights under the CCPA/CPRA. We don't sell personal information as defined under either law.
Recipe Keeper AI is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, access-controlled infrastructure, and authenticated APIs — to protect your data. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure.
Recipe Keeper AI is operated from India. If you're using the app from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in India and any other country where our service providers listed above operate, which may have different data protection laws than your own.
If we make a material change to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you in the app.
